Down Hall dates back to 1540 and resides in 110 acres of parkland, woodland & landscaped gardens.

It is located on the Essex / Hertfordshire border within easy reach of London.

From London it's about 5 miles  from the M11 J7 ( 6 miles from M25 J27). 

By train around 45 minutes from London Liverpool Street to Bishop's Stortford, then 10 minutes in a taxi. 

By air it's about 9 miles ( London side ) of Stansted airport.

Whether you're entertaining clients or staff, bringing them to Down Hall for your clay pigeon shooting event will undoubtedly impress them.

Choose to dine in the elegant Downham Restaurant, which offers a Table d’Hote Menu, or visit Ibbetson's, the 2 AA Rosette fine dining restaurant to enjoy English and European cuisine. You can take afternoon tea in the lounge and unwind in the cocktail bar.

You're welcome to make use of the leisure facilities that include an indoor 20 metre swimming pool, saunas and a jacuzzi.

All events start with a safety / gun handling briefing, some practice, a friendly competition & a trophy presentation at the end of the  event. Trophies can be personalized with your company name on them at no extra cost.

Guests are issued with hearing protection & safety glasses during the briefing.

General format:
Half day event:

9:30am Arrive at venue
(tea /coffee)
 10:00am Meet the instructors / safety briefing & general overview of the
event.

 10:15am Practice session, 20 shots each, 10 at a time rotating within the groups.

11:15am Competition, 30 shots each, 10 at a time rotating within the groups.

 12:45 pm. Trophy presentation to winning guests or team, either on the activity
field, or inside the hotel.

Outdoor gazebos will be on hand, to stop the weather ruining the days play.

Smaller gauge guns are available for ladies if required.

For a full days shooting in the afternoon we'll set up a team flurry for you.

Basically teams of 2,3, or 4 shoot a sequence of  around 40 clays which are launched in a random manner. There may be up to 8 clays in the air at any one time, so it’s a bit like a free for all. Great fun that really gets the adrenalin flowing!

Guests can shoot the flurry as many times as they wish for around 2 hours in the afternoon. Trophies for the flurry are presented to the winning team at the end of the shoot
These formats can be tailored to suit your timings & budget as you wish.
